·       Important categories to remember for efficient search over UL Directory
·       Relevant information to extract from UL firestop systems

UL Solutions is a global expert in Certification, Testing, Inspections, Auditing etc. to validate the fire rating of any fire-resistant system, HILTI primarily uses UL to conduct the testing and issue certification accordingly.

UL systems classification deems valid across all the countries following UL/ASTM standard and holds high credibility. HILTI has over 1500 UL compliant systems for a range of products and various applications. Here is the guide to access all these certificates:

1.

Go to UL Solutions URL: Product iQ | UL Solutions Pic1: UL Homepage

2.

Each company has its own File no. for UL database (like an Identification no.). To search HILTI systems, search using File No. R13240 and R15431. A list of all different systems under various category will appear Pic 2: UL Search Page

3.    For each category like penetrations, joints, UL has a separate UL Category Control No.

4.    With the correct File number we can extract the entire list of Hilti relevant UL tested systems compliant with UL/ASTM.

A UL/CUL classified product system contains complete information about a tested system as per both ASTM and/or Canadian standards. It shows a typical assembly of all involved components/parameters with their detailed description. It mentions overall fire rating of the testing system along with all possible variations of different parameters, size range of different penetrating components, along with different possible materials and provides the list of all applicable product range for shown assembly.

In this way, a UL certified product system gives you all possible information on all possible variations for a particular assembly. It is a complete document and considered credible among all the countries following UL/ASTM Standards. Also, it is very important for any specifier, or any personnel involved in firestop construction to know how to read a UL system so that they can ensure safety with an optimum solution to unique site conditions.

In line with our customer promise, to be the best partner for productivity, sustainability, and personnel and asset safety, HILTI offers a versatile range of firestop products covering relevant UL tests and certified applications. HILTI has an efficient ECC team of expert engineers who can determine whether the site conditions belong to an already tested UL system or require an EJ.
